Description

Credit for the idea (of a golden field, sunset) goes to =Lhuin After seeing her submission with the dog in the field, I just HAD to draw such a picture myself! <3 It was so much fun! I take no credit for the overall picture idea, however, I take credit for the drawing/character/art :)

This is just a random wolf character. c: Maybe I'll make him a character some time. c:

Title is from a song called Always Gold by radical face c: I listened to it while drawing the pic. My aim was to create a relaxing atmosphere as this was drawn to relax myself. c:

Yup, that's it. 12 am here, I gotta go sleeping.
Speedpaint is coming soon ;D

Hello! I am pugofpower!

Now I must say this picture is nicely done! Very nice position!

Let's get on with this shall we?

Okay, so to begin I must say, the grass could use a little more work? The grass in front is very well made! Especially on the right side of the canine! However, it could use some depth, as well as some layering. As you demonstrated with the shadows, the rest of the grass could use the same affect. As with the grass farther away, maybe it could be a bit.. Farther away looking? Less focus does indeed give it nice depth, but may I suggest making the blades a bit smaller? As I see the grass was made at the same brush size as the one in front. Seeing the loss of detail I am assuming you wanted the field to stretch out a bit, in which I think it should be smaller as you look behind the canine.

I find this a helpful tutorial that is similar to the position and length of the grass in this picture! [link] Of course this is one example of many, and why not look for some more?

For the wolf, maybe a bit more time spent on the sketch could be better. It is clean looking, I must say, but maybe a bit of work on the anatomy? I see the wolf may be missing a chest, love! I haven't seen the character myself, so I won't go into much detail on the anatomy, assuming you gave them unique aspects. Never the less, I couldn't resist pointing out that the paws are very nicely done(:

Finally I am a bit confused on the light source. From what I see there are two(?) Light sources? (From both top hand corners) Maybe the light source could be identified more?

Thank you for your time! Keep drawing, friend! <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w…" width="25" height="20" alt="" title="Hi!"/>
